What we’ve delivered, and how we measure it

Two examples of process improvement results from school district work, told without client names, and the way we measure every engagement from start to finish.

Measuring results

Every engagement starts with a baseline

We measure results, not activity. Before we change anything, we record how the work runs today: how long it takes, where it stalls and what it costs. Every engagement ends with the numbers that moved, set side by side with that baseline.

If you choose Sustain, a monthly scorecard keeps tracking the same measures, so you can see the gains are holding.

Case note · K-12 district

Six engagements in a row with one district

Since 2023, a large metro Atlanta school district has brought us back for six consecutive engagements.

Leadership retreats

Retreats for the district’s leaders.

Standard operating procedures

Written procedures for core HR processes, so the work runs the same way no matter who does it.

Lean Six Sigma training

Fifteen members of the district’s HR council earned Yellow Belts.

Executive coaching

One-on-one coaching for leaders.

Performance excellence readiness

An eight-month effort that carried the HR division through a state quality award application.

Classification and market study

Delivered on the district’s timeline.

Case note · Classification study

A clear answer on one role, on the client’s date

The district’s HR chief had a direct question: did one support role belong one pay grade higher? Classification and compensation studies elsewhere commonly take months. This one needed an answer on a fixed date.

We ran a document-based study across eight comparator districts, delivered on the date the client set. Every figure traced to a cited source. The district got:

  • A clear answer to the question it asked
  • Where the role sits against the market
  • The cost of each option
  • Three options with their trade-offs
  • What evidence would change the answer

Before Amanex

Where the approach was tested

Before founding Amanex, Edwine Michel served as Director of Recruitment and Retention in the nation’s 10th-largest school district. There he led a Lean Six Sigma hiring project targeting 10 days or less to fill roles. The project was presented to peer districts nationally.
